What is the Nation of Argus?
The Sovereign Christian Imperial Free Kingdom of Argus (“Nation of Argus” or “Argus” for short) is a fictional island nation set in the Greek Bronze age (Currently). It is located a little outside of the Greek archipelago and is run by two dictators and a staff of provincial governors as well as other persons helping one of those two government positions. Argus boasts a weekly/biweekly Newsletter as well as a extremely professional website that has a computer-built map (WIP), a forum, and an Argus Video Game! (Also WIP)
Why, and how, did you create Argus?
Argus was born from the minds of some bored homeschoolers during lunch break between co-op classes. During school it was purely something to fill the cracks and entertain us between classes. After the first week or so, we had a paper map and some basic ideas for the morals and laws of the Nation. As the weeks turned to months, we gathered a small amount of people and had made up most of the laws for the Nation as well as getting the first Newsletter out. And now, Argus is almost ready to be a fully interactive, online, community-based, country!
How can I contribute to Argus?
First off, you can head over to the forums after signing up and discuss with other people the laws already in place or new laws, or even just pieces of news. There’s even a place to to talk about non Argus related stuff! However, if you do not want other people to see your thoughts on Argus stuff, you can email the developers and their staff here: firstname.lastname@example.org and they will try and reply back as soon as possible. Please be kind to our staff, they are underpaid, overworked, and fed too many donuts. (Just kidding!)
What is the newsletter?
As mentioned above, the newsletter will be released weekly/biweekly and will discuss that week’s laws created, the in-world news, a fictional story, sports, the lottery, and hopefully a lot more. Additionally, you can learn what each newsletter part means in detail by checking out this thread: http://nationofargus.com/forums/topic/newsletter-explanation/
Besides my Argus name and my lottery winnings, how can I interact with the world?
The Argus development team has plans far into the future for an Argus Video Game, but besides that, people can change laws, rename cities, etc, over in the forums!
Can I join the development staff?
You can apply for a staff position here: http://nationofargus.com/forums/forum/argus-1/apply/
Will there be giveaways in real life?
Yes actually, this probably wont happen if the occasion is not special (ie a holiday, or anniversary) it could be anything so keep up with the newsletter!
Will the Nation of Argus influence current events and change past history?
Yes actually, the staff will try and create legitimate scenarios for Argus to get past. And that will involved Argus changing history so that events happening right now will not be happening in the world of Argus. Even the present map will be totally different!
Is there MAGIC?! In Argus?
Yes in fact, there is Magic in Argus, though in small amounts, only a few powerful individuals are capable of harnessing its power. Magic is mainly used to power Argeese Airships, to keep them in the air.
What age are we in currently?
